The quarantine facility at the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) property in Entertainment City, Parañaque City, is already the biggest in Metro Manila, but the Department of Tourism has endorsed the further construction of a “megavaccination” complex.  —NAYONG PILIPINO

MANILA, Philippines — The planned mega vaccination center to be built on the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) grounds in Parañaque City are only temporary makeshift tents Malacañang said Tuesday.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the tents would be just like those used as quarantine facilities in the area.

(Those that will be constructed there will only be makeshift, not permanent. Just like tents like those built for quarantine facilities there.)

(This will not be permanent. This is only to help battle the pandemic and once most Filipinos are vaccinated, the problem of COVID-19 will end.)

Roque reiterated the Palace’s call to NPF not to hinder the government’s plan to construct a vaccination facility on its property.

The NPF has opposed constructing a mega vaccination site in the area, t saying it would require cutting of nearly 500 trees, killing the existing ecosystem in the area.
