This number consists of incoming students in kindergarten, Grade 1, Grade 7, and Grade 11, DepEd Undersecretary Jesus Mateo said.

The early registration or early enrollment for the school was held starting March 26 until the end of April but has been extended until the end of May.

“In-extend ‘yung early registration para makahabol mga magulang na nagkakaroon ng agam-agam,” he said in a Laging Handa public briefing.

Aside from early registration, Mateo said there will also be enrollment before the school year officially starts to make sure that those who have pre-registered will push through.

He said enrollment period for the remaining grades will be held either in July or August, before the upcoming school year opens.

DepEd earlier said there is no final date yet for the opening of the school year but it is eyeing the opening on August 23 as one of the options.
