Drug suspect slain in Masbate town buy-bust
LEGAZPI CITY –– A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation in San Jacinto town in Masbate province Monday night.
Colonel Joriz Cantoria, Masbate police chief, reported that anti-narcotics operatives were about to arrest Epifanio Alicando around 6 p.m. after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer when he resisted and fired at the law enforcers in Barangay Danao.
The police officers returned fire, hitting Alicando, who died on the spot.

Recovered were a caliber .45 pistol and five sachets of suspected shabu worth P20,000.
Alicando was on the illegal drugs watch list in the Bicol region.
