LEGAZPI CITY –– An alleged high-value target (HVT) illegal drug peddler was arrested on Sunday night with P345,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in a drug sting at a beach resort in Sorsogon City’s Bacon District, police said Monday.

Samuel Azas, 41, a resident of Barangay San Juan, was caught selling shabu to an undercover agent at a police drug operation inside the resort in Barangay Caricaran around 5 p.m., according to Police Colonel Arturo Brual, Sorsogon police chief.

Police operatives recovered from the suspect a sachet of shabu weighing 50 grams.

The suspect is in police custody while waiting for the filing of charges for possession and trading of illegal drugs in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
