Earthquakes sway Leyte, Southern Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY –– A series of earthquakes shook Leyte and Southern Leyte towns Monday, May 10.

The Philippine Institute of Seismology and Volcanology reported no damage.

The first quake was felt in San Francisco town in Southern Leyte at 2:02 a.m. with a magnitude of 2 and a depth of 026 kilometers.

At 7:57 a.m., a 2.1 magnitude quake, with a depth of 005 kilometers, jolted Hinunangan.

Earthquakes also occurred in Leyte, with Burauen as the center.

The first jolt, with a depth of 008 kilometers, was felt at 8:15 a.m.

The tremor was felt in Abuyog and Baybay City at Intensity II and Alangalang and Palo at Intensity I.

At 8:27 a.m., another quake occurred with a magnitude of 2.8 and a depth of 003 kilometers. It was also felt in Baybay City at Intensity II and Abuyog town at Intensity I.

Another jolt was felt in Burauen at 8:35 a.m.
