CITY OF MALOLOS –– Despite recording over 40,000 COVID-19 cases since last year, Bulacan province’s mortality rate remains among the lowest in Central Luzon.
A Department of Health report on May 7 showed that Bulacan’s death rate was at 1.98 percent of the total number of cases. The province has logged 800 deaths related to the disease so far.
It ranked second to Zambales province, which has the lowest death rate at 1.59 percent.
Zambales has logged 38 COVID-19 deaths out of 2,397 total infections.
Aurora registered 15 deaths out of its 674 COVID-19 cases, reflecting a 2.23-percent mortality rate.
With 153 deaths out of its 6,663 COVID-19 cases, Bataan’s death rate is at 2.30 percent.
Nueva Ecija followed with 8,640 cases and 234 deaths (2.71 percent), while Pampanga has 17,375 COVID-19 cases with 543 deaths (3.13 percent).
With 63 deaths out of its 1,914 cases, Olongapo City has the highest mortality rate at 3.29 percent.
