PNP’s COVID-19 cases rise to 21,168; 86 new infections reported

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday said it has logged an additional 86 COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 21,168.

PNP data showed that there are a total of 1,495 active cases, 19,615 recoveries and 58 deaths as of May 9, 2021.

Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections nationwide jumped to 1,094,849, according to the Department of Health (DOH) as of Saturday fternoon.

A total of 1,013,204 patients have recovered recovered while the death toll stands 18,269 deaths. 

DOH said active cases as of May 8, are at 63,376.
