BACOLOD CITY—The city’s five-day mass coronavirus vaccination drive was suspended on Friday (May 7) due to crowd control problems.
“We will reassess our protocols and procedures so we can implement a more orderly and safer flow of vaccination,” said City Administrator Em Ang.
She said the city government was planning to inject persons who had registered for the vaccination drive and had been notified to go to the vaccination site, the SM City.
At least 220 persons had been notified by the city data officer per day but these also included walk-in individuals who refused to leave although they were not in the schedule for injection.
At lest 1,670 health care workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidity had been injected with vaccines from Monday to Friday.
The mass vaccination will resume at another mall, Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod on Saturday (May 8), Ang said.
