Man from Subic town arrested for rape

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—A man in Subic town was arrested on Thursday (May 6) for allegedly raping a 22-year-old woman, police said.

Col. Romano Cardiño, acting Zambes police director, identified the suspect as Alvin Billas, 44, and a resident of Olongapo City.

Police cited initial investigation as saying the suspect barged into the victim’s house and entered her room where the rape took place as the victim slept around 9 a.m.

The victim was rescued by relatives who immediately reported the assault to village officials, resulting in the arrest of the suspect.

In his defense, the suspect said the victim was a sex worker and they had agreed to meet that day.

The suspect is now detained and will face charges.
