17 World War II vintage bombs unearthed in Nueva Ecija

SAN JOSE CITY, Nueva Ecija—At least 17 World War II vintage bombs had been unearthed by workers at a construction site in the city on Monday (May 3).

Lt. Col. Criselda de Guzman, acting city police chief, said the wartime explosives were discovered by Ryan Ambrocio at the village of Manicia.

Ambrocio was operating a backhoe when he accidentally excavated the 17 unexploded bombs.

Members of the provincial police’s explosive ordnance disposal and canine unit took custody of the explosives.

Police described the vintage bombs as “projectile 76mm”.
