MANILA, Philippines — Davao Region and Soccsksargen can expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms on Wednesday night, according to the country’s weather bureau.
This is due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting the southern portion of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on its afternoon weather bulletin.
For Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the easterlies could cause isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms starting in the afternoon until the evening, said Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren.
Clauren also said there are no low-pressure areas that could affect the country in the next three to five days.
For Thursday, hot and humid weather is expected in Luzon, with little chance of rain in Cagayan Valley and Metro Manila.
“Ngunit sa nalalabing bahagi po ng Luzon ay may tsansa po ng isolated rainshowers. Ito ay dulot ng easterlies o localized thunderstorms,” she said.
(But there are chances of isolated rainshowers in the remaining parts of Luzon due to easterlies or localized thunderstorms.)
Pagasa also said that Metro Manila could experience temperatures ranging from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
Tuguegarao may also experience temperatures of 24 to 35 degrees Celsius, Laoag with 24 to 33 degrees, Kalayaan Islands with 28 to 33 degrees, Puerto Princesa with 27 to 33 degrees, Legazpi with 26 to 32 degrees, Tagaytay with 23 to 32 degrees, and Baguio with 17 to 27 degrees.
In Visayas and Mindanao, Zamboanga may feel temperatures from 25 to 35 degrees Celsius, Cagayan de Oro with 24 to 34 degrees, Iloilo with 27 to 34 degrees, Davao with 25 to 33 degrees, Cebu with 25 to 32 degrees, and Tacloban with 25 to 32 degrees.
There are no gale warnings raised across the country, but the eastern seaboards may see moderate waves. For the rest of the country, slight to moderate waves can be expected, according to Pagasa.
