MANILA, Philippines — The Muntinlupa City Government on Wednesday began its vaccination rollout with doses of the Sputnik-V vaccine from Russia, two days after receiving their allotted doses from the national government.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi said the rollout was held at Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun) and Asian Hospital and Medical Centre (AHMC).
“This ceremonial roll-out signifies a step closer in returning to our normal lives,” Fresnedi said in a statement. “We are grateful to the national government for donating additional vaccines to our city as this will help us reach our target of achieving herd immunity as soon as possible.”
Muntinlupa City is part of the five local government units that received 3,000 doses out of the 15,000 from the national government. The cities of Manila, Makati, Parañaque, and Taguig have begun administering their allotted doses on Tuesday.
