A new hemodialysis facility that will cater exclusively to COVID-19 patients will be turned over to the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) on Wednesday. The new hemodialysis facility located within the NKTI compound has 20 machines and could serve up to 60 patients per day. A dialysis session takes about four hours, but machines are decontaminated after every session. Dr. Rose Marie Rosete-Liquete, head of NKTI, said the new facility for COVID-19 patients who need dialysis would prevent virus transmission in the hospital.
