3 drug suspects fall in Quezon busts

LUCENA CITY –– The police arrested three suspected drug pushers in buy-bust operations in Tayabas City and Candelaria town in Quezon province on Monday and Tuesday.

Colonel Ericson Dilag, Quezon police chief, identified the suspects in a report as Fidel Mandanas II, 48; Alexander Andal, 52; and Oswaldo Lodriga, 26.

The report said anti-illegal drug operatives collared Lodriga after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay Lalo in Tayabas City at 7:20 p.m. Monday.

Authorities seized seven sachets of shabu worth P31,400 in the street market.

The police also confiscated the motorcycle without a plate number believed used by the suspect in his illegal drug trade.

In Candelaria, police busted Mandanas in a sting operation inside a subdivision in Barangay Malabanban Sur around 10:30 p.m.

Mandanas yielded three sachets of shabu with a street value of P22,440.

Later, Andal was also busted in Barangay Pahinga Norte around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The police confiscated two sachets of shabu worth P20,400.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
