COVID-19 hits Quezon town vice mayor

LUCENA CITY – General Luna, Quezon Vice Mayor Jovito Red announced that he recently tested positive for COVID-19.

Red said that he is feeling well and has no more fever and cough.

He called on those who he interacted with to immediately self-isolate.

He urged the public to strictly observe all safety and health protocols to avoid getting infected by the dreaded virus.

As of May 1, Red is the only remaining active virus carrier in General Luna, a coastal municipality in the province’s Bondoc Peninsula district.

The town has so far logged 55 cases, with 52 recoveries and two fatalities.

Quezon province, still under the general community quarantine (GCQ) status until May 31, has recorded 10,507 COVID-19 cases and 9,246 recoveries since March last year.

The province still has 861 active COVID-19 cases.
