Bayanihan 2 extension until Dec 2021 sought
MANILA, Philippines — Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte wants to extend the validity of the Bayanihan to Recover As One Act or Bayanihan 2 to December 2021 to enable government to mitigate the impact of the pandemic.
Villafuerte has filed House Bill No. 9196, which extends the validity of Republic Act No. 11494, or the Bayanihan 2 law.
This will “give the government the opportunity to continuously implement the recovery and stimulus programs,” he said.
\The Bayanihan 2 law was set to lapse on Dec. 19, 2020, but was extended up to June 30, 2021, through RA 11519. The Bayanihan 2 law has P165.5 billion in funds for response, recovery and stimulus programs.
