SAN ANTONIO, Zambales- Eleven members of the League of Filipino Students were arrested on Labor Day (May 1) for allegedly breaking social distancing rules at the boundary of the towns of Subic and Castillejos.
One of the LFS members said they were on their way to the Labor Day rally at Angeles City in Pampanga when police officers flagged down their 15-seater van at a checkpoint at 7:30 a.m.
The driver of the van and his passengers (6 men and 5 women) were charged for failing to maintain the mandated one-meter physical distance inside the vehicle, said Police Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño, Zambales police director.
The LFS members underwent tests for the coronavirus.
Zambales is under a modified general community quarantine, the lowest quarantine classification in the country. JOANNA ROSE AGLIBOT
