MANILA, Philippines — Some 500,000 more doses of Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine CoronaVac arrived in the country on Thursday morning, completing the 1.5 million doses for delivery this April.

The vaccines arrived via commercial plane Cebu Pacific at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport 2, the National Task Force against COVID-19 said in a statement. This batch is part of the government-purchased vaccine from Sinovac, a China-based company.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the shots will be distributed immediately “in areas that are experiencing high cases of COVID-19.”
