Antipolo shrine to lead COVID-19 rosaries

05:22 AM April 29, 2021

MANILA, Philippines — The Antipolo Cathedral, the country’s oldest national shrine, was selected by the Vatican as one of 30 Catholic churches around the world chosen by the Pontifical Council for Promotion of the New Evangelization to lead prayer moments throughout May.

Also known as the National Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, the Marian shrine will hold recitations of the rosary to be broadcast overseas live from the Philippines on May 7. Pope Francis urged Catholics to devote the month of May for a prayer marathon, amid mounting COVID deaths.
