MANILA, Philippines — The city government of San Juan will be distributing tablets and laptops to its public school students “in the next few days” to help them with their distance learning, its city mayor Francis Zamora said Wednesday.
Zamora made the announcement in a Facebook post where he said he has inspected laptops and tablets from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT.)
“We will start distributing these gadgets in the next few days,” he wrote.
Zamora said that Grade 3 to 6 students of Pinaglabanan Elementary School will receive laptops with pocket WiFi as they have been selected as the pilot school for distance learning.
Meanwhile, all other Kinder to Grade 12 students from all the other San Juan public schools will also be receiving tablets.
“They will be able to use these gadgets for their education for as long as they are studying in our San Juan public schools,” he said.
