Arrest warrant out for Sandra Cam, 6 others in Masbate slay

Jueteng whistleblower turned presidential appointee Sandra Cam faces arrest over the 2019 murder of the vice mayor of her hometown Batuan, Masbate.

Aside from Cam, named in the arrest warrant were her son Marco Martin Cam, Batuan’s sitting Vice Mayor Nelson Cambaya, and four others identified as Junel Gomez, Bradford Solis, Juanito de Luna and Rigor dela Cruz.

“It pains me so much to hear about the arrest warrant because I know I am innocent. I was here [in Batuan] when that happened,” Cambaya said in a phone interview on Tuesday.

The respondents were charged with the murder of Batuan Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III and with frustrated murder of Yuson’s two companions in a gun attack in Sampaloc, Manila, in October 2019.
