The Department of Health (DOH) said it is “allowed and recommended” to administer vaccines against COVID-19 to patients in dialysis centers to fast-track the inoculation of people with a higher risk of severe infection. This is also to ease the vaccination process for the “very special populations” just as how the government has started rolling out vaccines for HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and tuberculosis (TB) patients at their respective treatment facilities, said Dr. Razel Nikka Hao of the DOH Disease Prevention and Control Bureau.
