13 new COVID-19 patients in Zambales include 4-month-old baby

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales–A four-month-old baby and a 24-year-old pregnant woman were among the 13 new COVID-19 patients in the province on Monday (April 26), an official said.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the infant from Subic town has been exposed to a relative who died on April 23 while being treated at a hospital in Pampanga province.

It was not immediately known how the pregnant patient from Castillejos town contracted the virus since she had no history of travel outside the province.

The woman tested positive for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, prior to a medical checkup.

Citing health data in the province, Bueno said the other new COVID-19 cases were mostly workers and members of the same households.

So far, the province has recorded 1,739 total COVID-19 infections since 2020. At least 1,400 of these were recoveries while 37 led to deaths.
