MANILA, Philippines — Expect warm days to continue as easterlies affect most of parts of the country, although state meteorologists said on Tuesday that isolated rains are likely especially by afternoon and night.

Satellite images from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Tuesday afternoon showed that despite easterlies being the prevalent weather system, thin clouds still surround parts of the country especially in Mindanao.

“Ngayong gabi ay generally ‘yong malaking bahagi ng bansa ay magigiging fair weather condition.  Pero asahan dahil sa epekto ng easterlies sa Caraga, Northern Mindanao, at Davao Region ‘yong kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at pagkidlat ngayong gabi, for at least 12 to 24 hours dyan,” weather specialist Joey Figuracion said.

(For tonight, a huge part of the country would have a generally fair weather condition, but we could expect that because of the easterlies, isolated rains and thunderstorms would occur in Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Region for the next 12 to 24 hours.)

Similarly, parts of Luzon and Visayas would also see isolated thunderstorms due to the high moisture content brought by the easterlies.

For Wednesday, temperatures across Luzon would remain warm, ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila and Puerto Princesa, 24 to 34 degrees in Tuguegarao, 23 to 33 degrees in Laoag, 22 to 30 degrees in Tagatay, and 26 to 32 degrees in Legazpi.

Visayas and Mindanao would see similar conditions, as Cebu, Tacloban, and Davao may have temperatures between 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, Iloilo with 26 to 33 degrees, Zamboanga with 24 to 34 degrees Celsius, and Cagayan de Oro with 24 to 33 degrees.

No gale warning has been raised as of now, although the eastern waters of Luzon and Visayas would have a moderate to rough condition as Luzon’s western and northern coasts, plus eastern seas of Mindanao would be moderate.  The rest would have a slight to moderate condition.
