PNP reports 2 new deaths from COVID-19

The Philippine National Police reported on Monday two more COVID-19 deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 55. Gen. Debold Sinas, chief of the PNP, said the latest deaths were a 39-year-old female employee assigned with the PNP directorate for personnel records and management in Camp Crame; and a 46-year-old Valenzuela City policeman. The nonuniformed staffer succumbed on Sunday to bilateral interstitial pneumonia while the policeman died on Saturday from acute respiratory failure. —
