Ex-president Erap is back home — Jinggoy

MANILA, Philippines — Former president Joseph “Erap” Estrada has returned home after being hospitalized for his bout with COVID-19, his son and former senator Jinggoy Estrada said.

In his post on Facebook on Monday, Jinggoy showed Erap being greeted by his family as he arrived back from the hospital following days of confinement at the intensive care unit (ICU) several times.

In another photo, Erap was seen kissing the hand of his wife and Jinggoy’s mother, former senator Loi Estrada.

“Welcome home!!!” Jinggoy said.  “Miss na miss niya na nanay ko! Hehehe…”

The former president tested positive for COVID-19 on March 29, and was rushed to a hospital after feeling weak.  He was later transferred to the ICU after finding difficult for him to breathe because of pneumonia.

Erap regained strength but was eventually brought back to the ICU on April 16, due to bacterial lung infection.
