Bacolod cop station chief, 13 other policemen test positive for COVID-19

BACOLOD CITY –– A police station chief and 13 other policemen here have tested positive for COVID-19.

Major Jun Ray Batadlan, Police Station 4 chief, said he tested positive for COVID-19 last week and was in quarantine with 13 other police.

Lt. Greeky Cayao, deputy police chief, said the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) had sent 10 cops to augment Station 4, while the 14, who tested positive, recover.

Col. Manuel Placido, Bacolod police director, directed all BCPO personnel to undergo COVID-19 swab tests.

Station 4 was prioritized because it already had five COVID-19 cases.

On Saturday night, the test results showed nine more Station 4 policemen testing positive for COVID-19, Cayao said.
