Bank exec, bookstore workers among new 12 COVID-19 cases in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — A bank supervisor, a bookstore manager, and cooperative workers were added to the growing number of people infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Zambales province on Saturday (April 24), an official said.

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said these patients could have contracted the virus at their workplaces.

The patients were among the 12 new COVID-19 cases recorded in the province on Saturday, raising the total number of active infections to 291.

Bueno said virus transmission among family members continues to be observed in the province.

Citing local health data, Bueno said Zambales has recorded 1,704 COVID-19 cases since last year. At least 1,375 of these have recovered from the disease.

The province also registered 37 COVID-19 related deaths.
