Over 9,600 new COVID-19 infections bring total active cases to 89,485
MANILA, Philippines — More than 9,600 new COVID-19 infections in the country brought the total number of active cases in the country to 89,485, the Department of Health (DOH) reported Saturday.
In its health bulletin on April 24, the DOH said there are 9,661 new COVID-19 cases in the country, bringing the total cases to 989,380.
Meanwhile, there are 22,877 new recoveries, bringing the total number of those who have recovered from the disease to 883,221. Further, the death toll stands at 16,674 after 145 more people succumbed to the disease.
The DOH said 95.9 percent of the cases are mild, 1.4 percent are asymptomatic, 1.1 percent are severe, 0.8 percent are critical, and 0.7 percent are moderate.
