NKTI to non-dialysis patients: Try other hospitals

The National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) appealed on Friday to patients with COVID-19 symptoms but do not need dialysis to seek medical care elsewhere so they would be able to prioritize dialysis patients. Rose Marie Rosete-Liquete, chief of NKTI, made the appeal in a radio interview after photos of several individuals sleeping on the floor surfaced on social media. The NKTI, at the height of the surge of cases last March, reported overcapacity in its facilities.
