SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—At least 29 people in the province were added to its growing number of COVID-19 patients, officials said on Thursday (April 22).
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the new patients were aged 7 to 86 and from eight of the province’s 13 towns.
Bueno said most of the new patients were exposed to virus-infected relatives or contracted the virus at work.
Among those infected were three police officers and two call center agents.
Four members of one household at the village of San Juan in Cabangan town contracted the virus after they were exposed to a sick relative.
As of Thursday, the province had 1,655 total COVID-19 cases that were recorded since the pandemic began in 2020.
