TACLOBAN CITY—Some areas in Leyte and Southern Leyte provinces felt a series of earthquakes on Friday (April 23).
Reports from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quakes’ epicenter were traced to the town of Sogod in Southern Leyte.
The first tremor was felt around 4:31 a.m. in the towns of Sogod, Hinunangan, Hinundayan, Abuyog, Baybay City, and Palo—all in Leyte province.
Another quake occurred at 6:37 a.m. with Sogod as the epicenter.
No damage was recorded, said the Southern Leyte provincial disaster risk reduction management office.
