Robredo tests negative for COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo tested negative for COVID-19, she announced on her personal Facebook account on Thursday evening.

According to Robredo, she got her negative RT-PCR test result earlier, while on her seventh day of quarantine.

The Vice President went on quarantine when one of her close-in aides tested positive for COVID-19, which forced her to cancel her trip to Bicol.

“Got my NEGATIVE RT PCR Result just a few minutes ago. I quarantined strictly inside my bedroom for 7 straight days. Went out early this morning to have myself tested and went back to my cave to wait for my result,” Robredo said in her account.

Despite the negative test, Robredo said she would continue the 10-day quarantine period, just to make sure. She went out of her room to greet their family pet after the negative test.

“Even if I tested Negative already, I was advised by our doctor to finish at least the 10-day minimum quarantine period. The 8 days passed by so swiftly because we’re all immersed with our Bayanihan E-Konsulta operations,” she added.

“The minute I got the result, I went down to greet a Happy Birthday to our Rocco.  He is 5 now. Time really flies,” she noted.
