SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Two more people died of COVID-19 in the province, which saw its case tally jump to 1,626 with 27 new infections on Wednesday (April 21).
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the two new fatalities wee a 79-year-old man from Castillejos town and a 35-year-old man from the town of Cabangan.
Bueno said the new fatalities raised to 34 the COVID-19 death toll in the province.
Among the new infections are two boys aged 2 and 3. They are the sons of a woman who contracted the virus following an outbreak at a call center where she works.
Two of the other new COVID-19 cases are those of staffers of a public official in the province. Both are not showing symptoms but had been tested last April 19 because their work required it.
The total number of active cases in Zambales is now 267 while the number of recoveries stood at 1,324.
