MANILA, Philippines — Two senior citizens were shot and killed inside their car in broad daylight Wednesday afternoon in Makati City.
In a police report, authorities identified the victims as Bonifacio De Vera Jr. and Remigia Talledo De Vera, both were 62 years old.
Police said the two were attacked at 1:35 p.m. while inside their parked vehicle in Barangay Bel-Air, Makati.
They died on the spot. Bonifacio suffered gunshot wounds to the body and Remigia to the face, police said.
Further investigation revealed that a gray Mitsubishi Mirage drove up and pulled over right in front of the victims’ car.
A woman got out and went to the victims’ car to talk to them, police said.
“Moments later, the said female suspect got off the car and talk to her male companion, who thereafter went back to the victims’ vehicle, and once inside, for an unknown reason, fired several shots toward the two victims,” the police report read.
After shooting the victims, the assailant, carrying a green eco bag, boarded the Mitsubishi Mirage, which sped towards South Avenue, Makati City.
The two perpetrators are still at large as the police continue their investigation.
Makati operatives found six fired cartridge cases and a discharged bullet from a caliber. 45 pistol at the crime scene.
Meanwhile, the bodies were brought to a funeral parlor in Pasay City for autopsy.
