Olongapo sees 1 COVID-19 death per day as toll rises to 58

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Olongapo City has been recording one COVID-19 death per day for three consecutive days, according to officials.

In an advisory, Mayor Rolen Paulino said the latest fatality was a 51-year-old man from the village of Kalakĺan whose infection was confirmed only three days after his death on April 18.

Citing health data, Paulino said the patient experienced COVID-19 symptoms, like cough and fever. The man died of cardio pulmonary arrest and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in the city.

The patient’s death raised to 58 the total COVID-19 fatalities in the city.

He was also listed as one of five new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday (April 20).

The city currently has 150 active cases out of the 1,342 total cases recorded since 2020. Over 1,130 of these patients had recovered from the disease.
