LUCENA CITY –– Fits of rage during two separate drinking sessions resulted in the death of a 50-year-old farmer and injury to another in Quezon province on Tuesday.
The Quezon police reported that Hernani Otcharan, 50, and Eduardo Genton, 48, were drinking alcohol in Barangay Abuyon in San Narciso town around 6 p.m. when a heated argument ensued between the two.
The argument ended with Ganton stabbing Otcharan with an unspecified bladed weapon.
The victim died while being taken to the hospital, while Ganton was arrested.
In Tagkawayan town, farmer Victor Surara, 33, barely survived after he was repeatedly hacked with a bolo by Noel Callos, 54, in another argument during a drinking session in Barangay Maguibuay around 10 p.m.
The victim, who suffered multiple hacked wounds, was taken to Maria Lourdes Eleazar Memorial District Hospital at the town center.
The police jailed the suspect.
