MANILA, Philippines — The country’s active COVID-19 cases has gone down to 127,006 as of Tuesday, after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 21,664 new recoveries.
DOH also recorded 7,379 new infections, which is relatively lower compared to the previous days where new cases went past the 10,000 mark. However, 93 new fatalities meant that the death toll is at 16,141.
Tuesday’s COVID-19 bulletin is the third straight day that the country logged more more than 9,00 recoveries — starting from Sunday with 72,607, and on Monday with 9,266.
Recoveries are at 809,959; while the country’s total confirmed COVID-19 cases is at 953,106.
Most of the patients or 96.9 percent of active cases have still exhibited mild symptoms only, while 1.3 percent were asymptomatic. At least 0.7 percent of the patients currently have severe symptoms while 0.6 percent are in critical condition.
Of the 27,040 tests conducted on Sunday, DOH said that 17.9 percent tested positive. In terms of COVID-19 bed capacity in the National Capital Region which is still seeing a surge of cases, 84 percent of intensive care unit beds have been utilized while 61 percent of isolation beds are occupied.
