Bising slightly weakens as it continues moving north over Luzon waters

Typhoon Bising slightly weakens, Signal No. 2 in Catanduanes, parts of CamSur, Albay, Sorsogon

MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Bising slightly weakened on Monday night, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

According to the latest data from Pagasa, Bising was last located 500 kilometers east of Infanta in Quezon Province.  It was packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center with a gustiness of up to 230 kph.

It was moving north at 10 kph.

Bising was seen to continue its northward or take on a north northwest track, which means that it would be around 370 kmeast of Casiguran, Aurora by Tuesday night.  On Wednesday morning it would be around 315 km east of Aparri, Cagayan.

It would start curving back to the Pacific Ocean after that. By Thursday night it would be 350 km east of Basco Batanes, and on Friday it would be 740 km east northeast of Basco.

Pagasa said that areas under Signal No. 2 may feel winds of 61 kph to 120 kph in the next 24 hours.

Pagasa SAID no boats or sea crafts are allowed to set sail in areas under a tropical cyclone wind signal and a gale warning, which stretches from Ilocos Region’s waters to Cagayan Valley, down to Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas’ waters, Central Visayas’ northern and eastern inland seas, and Caraga’s northern seaboards.
