BOC files smuggling raps vs traders of cigarettes, fish

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has filed criminal cases against traders of cigarettes and fish products. Smuggling charges were filed against Bianmintina Store in Pasay City before the Department of Justice for alleged unlawful importation and sale of various assorted cigarettes worth P1.57 million on Dec. 16, 2020. Also charged were Hightower Inc. and its customs broker for alleged misdeclaration and unlawful importation of prohibited fish products, including round scad and mackerel valued at P2.6 million on Nov. 22, 2020.
