SAN ANTONIO, Zambales –– A Catholic priest in Castillejos town has died and later tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), prompting the parish, where he served to be locked down, authorities said.

Fr. Felix Labios Jr. of San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish died on April 17, according to an April 18 parish advisory.

Labios, who underwent a kidney transplant two years ago, had tested positive for COVID-19 “post mortem,” His COVID-19 infection worsened his health condition, the church said.

His remains were cremated immediately.

Health officials had started the contact tracing and disinfection of the parish, its office, and the convent that were closed to the public.
