Work, classes suspended in 5 Sorsogon towns, Sorsogon City

LEGAZPI CITY –– As Typhoon “Bising” (international name Surigae) dumps moderate to heavy rains on Bicol region, six local governments in Sorsogon on Monday suspended work in public and private offices and online classes in public and private schools.

Dong Mendoza, Sorsogon province spokesperson, said Donsol, Pilar, Gubat, Barcelona, and Bulusan towns and Sorsogon City issued separate advisories suspending work in public offices and online classes in private and public schools for Monday.

However, the suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

Work suspension, however, excludes agencies involved in the delivery of basic health and disaster preparedness and response.
