MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has logged 125 new COVID-19 cases among its police officers, bringing the total of confirmed infections to 18,531.
The PNP, in a Facebook post Sunday, said the PNP Health Service also reported two new fatalities among police officers, bringing the total number of deaths to 51.
Meanwhile, the number of PNP personnel who recovered from COVID-19 rose to 16,204, including 169 new recoveries.
At present, there are 2,276 active COVID-19 cases among police officers.
The Philippines’ COVID-19 active cases breached the 200,000-mark on Saturday after the Department of Health reported 11,101 additional infections.
The country’s COVID-19 tally now stands at 926,052, including 706,532 recoveries and 15,810 deaths.
