MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) should unload its stockpile of medicines and medical transport to beef up local governments’ supplies of COVID-19 medicines and test kits.
Senior Citizens Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes said this was to support the local governments’ pandemic response, especially in managing asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 patients who opt for home quarantine.
Ordanes, chair of the House senior citizens committee, urged the PCSO to “proactively deliver COVID-19 medicines and ambulances, instead of waiting for donation requests.”
He said the ambulances could be used to transport much-needed medicines and supplies to barangays. The ambulances can be staffed with health workers to administer COVID-19 tests in barangays.
