Ecija village councilman nabbed for selling shabu
CUYAPO, NUEVA ECIJA — A barangay (village) councilman here was arrested for allegedly selling shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover policeman on Friday (April 16).
Barangay (village) Bulala councilman Sonny Agustin Balcorta was caught in possession of two sachets of shabu during the drug bust in Barangay District 6 here, said Lt. Col. Erwin Ferry, municipal police chief.
Being an elected official, Balcorta had been classified as a high-value target and was the subject of surveillance before he was nabbed during the bust, Ferry said.
Balcorta will be charged for violating Republic Act No. 9165 (the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act). ARMAND GALANG INQ
