MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office Region 5 has suspended the entry of trucks, buses, and private vehicles going to the Port of Matnog, crossing to Allen Port in Northern Samar from April 16 until April 20 as Bicol is expected to be hit by Typhoon “Bising.”

Quoting the advisory from LTO Region 5, Sorsogon Governor Francis Escudero said checkpoints near Del Gallego in Camarines Sur to prevent vehicles entering the ports.

He added that the Land Transportation Office Region 5 will place checkpoints near Del Gallego in Camarines Sur to prevent vehicles from entering the ports.

The governor also advised trucking and logistics companies and passenger buses to postpone their planned trips in order to avoid long queues from Matnog, Sorsogon to Daraga, Albay.

Escudero also advised trucks, buses, and private vehicles going to Luzon and Mindanao to postpone their planned trips and avoid getting stranded in Sorsogon due to the cancellation of trips, noting that Matnog Port connects travelers from Luzon to Visayas and Mindanao.

Bising intensified into a typhoon as it entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), though no signal warning has yet been raised for now.
