Santiago City posts 357 active COVID-19 cases; infants among latest patients

SANTIAGO CITY –– The city’s active cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have ballooned to 357 on Thursday, April 15, prompting the local government to intensify further the monitoring of health protocols here.

Local health data shows that the figure is Santiago’s highest tally of active cases so far.

Among the latest COVID-19 cases are 3-week-old and 8-month-old infants.

The city remains on modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until April 30. MECQ is the second most restrictive quarantine classification in the country.

A total of 2,850 COVID-19 cases had been recorded in the city since last year. Of these, 2,434 had recovered. INQ
