The Department of the Interior and Local Government on Thursday said Metro Manila cities would be receiving 4,754 new contact tracers as part of the national government’s efforts to speed up early detection in COVID-19 cases and close contacts. Speaking at presidential spokesperson Harry Roque Jr.’s press briefing, Interior Undersecretary Bernardo Florece Jr. said the contact tracers would be hired through the Department of Labor and Employment’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, at P537 per day for three months. Those interested must send their application letters, barangay residency certification and medical certificate to the Public Employment Service Office on or before April 22. Applicants must be at least a high school graduate and should have relevant work experience. —JEROME ANING
