The Philippine National Police on Tuesday tallied its 46th death from COVID-19 as new cases continued to average at 200 nationwide daily. Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, PNP deputy chief for administration, said a 47-year-old lieutenant assigned with the PNP explosives and ordinance division, and a 48-year-old police lieutenant colonel from the PNP Legal Service were added to the list on Monday. Eleazar said a total of 17,637 COVID-19 cases were tallied as of Tuesday night, 2,391 of which are active. Of the total number of cases 15,200 have recovered. Since March 24, new cases in the PNP has averaged at 200 daily. The highest daily rate of 316 new cases was recorded on March 26.
