Another COVID-19 death raises Olongapo toll to 54

OLONGAPO CITY—The city saw another COVID-19 death and five new cases on Monday (April 12), according to authorities.

Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr., in an advisory, said the new infections hit residents between the ages of 15 and 68 with the elderly suffering from pre-existing health conditions, like hypertension and diabetes.

Paulino said all of the patients displayed symptoms of COVID-19 and were immediately placed on quarantine while undergoing treatment.

An elderly patient died after suffering from cardio-pulmonary arrest and multi-organ failure.

The 59-year-old fatality raised to 54 the total deaths recorded in the city that were related to COVID-19.

On April 11, the city recorded 18 new COVID-19 cases, which was one of its highest single-day record.
